Our goal is to equip students to answer the following questions:

1.       What are your rights?

2.       How did you get them?

3.       Where are they written?

4.       How well do you know them?

Students will learn the following:

·         The content of the documents that form the foundations of our freedoms in the United States

·         The historical circumstances that led to the codification of those rights

·         The structures of government that protect those rights

·         The political processes that preserve those rights

·         The major events of American history that led to the expansion of those rights

·         The most significant Supreme Court decisions regarding our rights

·         The people who have had the most influential effect on defining, preserving, and expanding our constitutional rights

·         The most famous speeches or statements about our rights

Format:

The National Liberty Bee is a buzzer styled tournament. It comprises several challenge rounds where students gain points and rankings. These challenge rounds culminate in a championship round where students compete for victory as teams or individuals.
